Ecologies of Movement is a two-week solo design project I completed as part of the Daniels Design Discovery program. I explored the broad idea of movement—how people, nature, and energy flow through a space. My project focused on Bickford Park in Toronto, using its deep Indigenous history, local graffiti culture, and patterns of land use to inspire the design. A mural by Cree Elder and activist Pauline Rose Shirt was a major influence-it helped shape how I thought about the site's identity and community role. The design introduces more green space, not just for beauty or function, but as a living classroom and a natural system to absorb carbon. I kept the basketball court and reimagined it as a civic hub-where play, social life, and local culture come together. I used curved paths and overlapping routes, inspired by graffiti and nature, to encourage exploration and layered experiences. In short, I tried to design a place where learning, community, and the environment could grow together.
